Dewpoint, an information technology and solutions company, announced today it is being recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as a Cool Place to Work in Michigan. For the past six years, Dewpoint has made the list based on its performance and work hard/play hard culture.
To achieve recognition, companies are graded on an employee feedback survey measuring workplace culture, workforce development, and company leadership. Dewpoint’s core values of commitment, dependability, flexibility, intelligence, and a Dewpoint attitude, guide the company in everything it does. A conscious effort is made to maintain the company culture to attract and retain employees.
Crain’s ranks companies throughout Michigan, so what puts Dewpoint on the list? Programs such as DewGood, where employees are given paid time off to volunteer and $150 dollars each year to donate to a charity of their choice. Additionally, each employee is given 29 days of paid time off each year. Employees are offered a plethora of after-work events such as Dew Drop-Ins, summer Rock the Block Party, Family Fun Days, March Madness viewing, annual holiday party, and MSU tailgates. Dewpoint also provides employees with the ability to grow by offering paid training in their area of expertise, a formal mentoring program and Lunch and Learns throughout the year.
Dewpoint was founded in Michigan and has been continuously supported by the community; because of this, giving back to the various Michigan communities is very important. Some highlights in 2019 include: $10,000 to Fostering Futures, a program that helps foster children go to college; hosting an annual 2020 Girls event at Dewpoint headquarters to promote STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) education and youth engagement programs; and Ele’s Place a support group for children and teens dealing with grief. Dewpoint has also been growing its Dewpoint Dugout program, which gives Lansing Lugnuts tickets as well as Lugnuts Loot to children in the Lansing area. This year EVE, Ele’s Place, Lansing Parks and Rec, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing participated in the program. Furthermore, the company is always a fixture at many charity races and golf outings throughout the state.
Dewpoint’s commitment to community, employee engagement, and strong positive company leadership create the perfect environment to land the company on the Crain’s Cool Places to Work list.
